Heritage Taranaki was established in 2013 following the dissolution of the former regional branches of the Historic Places Trust.

Heritage Taranaki is recognised as an authoritative advocate for the conservation of built heritage, historic places, and archaeological sites and landscapes throughout Taranaki.
