Description

Aotearoa New Zealand native Toro (Myrsine salicina).

Relatively slender tree with leathery, glossy, long, narrow leaves. New leaves often pink-red tinged. Can grow in both sun and shade. Produces cream-pink flowers in the spring and red-orange berries in the autumn that are loved by birds. Naturally found in lowland and montane forests.

Current height approx 0.4m above PB3 planter bag.

These plants are grown locally in Ngāmotu New Plymouth and have been donated to Heritage Taranaki to help support our mission of conserving our region’s unique heritage.
