Description

Aotearoa New Zealand native whauwhaupaku (Pseudopanax arboreus).

Five finger/whauwhaupaku is a relatively fast growing New Zealand native tree found from Cape Reinga to Bluff in lowland forests. Has glossy, five to seven fingered leaves. It grows into a small stout tree up to 5 metres high and grows well in most soils and situations. Has small purplish black berries in autumn.

Current height: Approx 0.6m above PB8 planter bag.

These plants are grown locally in Ngāmotu New Plymouth and have been donated to Heritage Taranaki to help support our mission of conserving our region’s unique heritage.
