Description

Paraná Pine/Nut (Araucaria angustifolia).

An attractive large size evergreen tree up to 40 metres tall, with sharp, leathery leaves. It can live for hundreds of years and is critically endangered in its native habitat.

When mature the tree produces edible nuts in large cones that can be boiled, fried or roasted.

Current height approx 0.7m above PB8 planter bag.

These plants are grown locally in Ngāmotu New Plymouth and have been donated to Heritage Taranaki to help support our mission of conserving our region’s unique heritage.

All proceeds from the sale of this product, minus any transaction fees, goes towards supporting our heritage advocacy work.
